Listen up:

Marijuana has the 3rd highest rate of dependence in the US (after heroin and crack).

We recently wrote on this issue at Brain Blogger. I would like to hear your comments on our article. Thank you.

Sincerely,

I think the addiction is a psychological thing, and manifests itself different to everyone. I agree the gov't should but out and legalize the stuff though.

Hi There,

First off, I am all for the legalization of Marijuana. I am also against big pharma, and big brother.

Some people do experience significant withdrawal from Marijuana!

My current research indicates that marijuana COULD be very mildly addicting physically, and quite addicting psychologically. Thus the majority of the withdrawal symptoms are psychologically based, which may trigger physical symptoms.

Insomnia, Anxiety, Depression, and loss of appetite are all possible for chronic, long term, heavy users of marijuana.

If only 5% of users develop dependence, that is still a huge number of people when you consider how many new people try weed each year.

I consider myself to be one of the less than 10% dependant users, and have started a blog at http://www.marijuana-addict.com. You can view my posts, and read other peoples stories in the comments.
